Matthew Timoko: Key Contributor to the 2025 Kiwis Campaign so far

Matthew Timoko (Canberra Raiders) was officially named in the Aotearoa New Zealand Kiwis squad for the 2025 Pacific Championships.
The Kiwis' campaign opened with a high‑intensity test against Toa Samoa at Go Media Stadium (formerly Mt Smart) on 19 October 2025. It will be followed by a matchup against Tonga at Eden Park in Auckland on 2 November 2025.
In the opening fixture, Mattew Timoko crossed the line with a try on the stroke of halftime, helping secure a 16–12 lead heading into the break. A compelling showing saw him, along with teammate Charnze Nicoll‑Klokstad, amass 351 run metres collectively. This try and his overall performance underline Matty Timoko’s growing impact at the international level as a centre known for line‑breaks, work‑rate and finishing ability.
His inclusion in the 2025 Kiwis squad reflects both his consistency at club level and his alignment with the team’s strategic objectives. According to the official squad announcement, he is among the retained players bringing experience and depth to the roster.
