Inventus Sports is pleased to highlight the latest chapter in the career of Konrad “Koni” Hurrell, showcasing his resilience, adaptability, and leadership.
In November 2024, Konrad extended his contract with St Helens R.F.C. for the 2025 season. His time there included more than 60 appearances and major silverware, including a Super League Grand Final and a World Club Challenge title.
However, following a serious neck injury in 2024 and limited first‑team opportunities in 2025, Konrad has secured a move to French side FC Lézignan XIII for the 2025/26 Super XIII campaign. Throughout his recovery and transition, Konrad embraced a mentorship role within his squad, guiding younger players off the field and demonstrating the professional standards Inventus Sports values in athlete development.
As he begins his new pathway in France, the focus remains on long‑term career management, contribution to sport and preparation for life after playing.
Konrad’s journey serves as a powerful illustration of our commitment to supporting athletes at every stage of their development. This holistic approach encompasses three critical areas: on the field, off the field, and beyond.
On the Field
Konrad's experiences highlight the importance of providing athletes with the resources and training they need to excel in their sport. This includes:
Skill Development: Continuous training programs tailored to enhance specific skills.
Coaching Support: Access to experienced trainers who can offer guidance and mentorship.
Performance Analysis: Utilising technology to analyse performance metrics and improve strategies.
Off the Field
Support extends beyond the sport itself, emphasising the importance of athletes' well-being in their personal lives. Key aspects include:
Mental Health Resources: Providing access to sports psychologists and mental wellness programs.
Financial Literacy: Understanding budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt to make informed financial decisions.
Beyond
The journey of an athlete often continues after their competitive years. Our model prepares them for life after sports by focusing on:
Community Engagement: Encouraging athletes to give back through mentorship and volunteer work.
Long-term Health: Promoting healthy lifestyle choices that support physical and mental well-being long after their athletic careers.
Konrad’s story exemplifies how comprehensive support can empower athletes not just in their sports but also in their personal and professional lives.
We congratulate Konrad and look forward to partnering with him in this next phase.
