Matthew Timoko Joins Kiwis Camp Ahead of Pacific Championships

Matthew Timoko - selected in the New Zealand Kiwis squad is in camp as preparations ramp up for the 2024 Pacific Championships. The tournament, featuring some of the top rugby league nations, begins with New Zealand’s match against Australia on October 27th at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch, followed by a game against Tonga on November 2nd in Auckland .


Matthew who plays for the Canberra Raiders, has steadily built his reputation as a strong performer in the NRL. His call-up to the Kiwis reflects his consistent form and growth as a player. This opportunity offers him a chance to contribute to the Kiwis squad at the international level again.


The Pacific Championships provide a challenging environment, with New Zealand aiming to make a statement against tough opponents. Matthew’s inclusion adds depth to the Kiwis’ lineup as they prepare under head coach Stacey Jones for two competitive fixtures against Australia and Tonga.
